Great Gatsby Theme Wedding in Virginia by Caroline LaRocca Event Design

My, this wedding’s design elements are just too swanky cool from VA based planner, floral and event designer extraordinaire Caroline LaRocca Event Design! Caroline’s bride-to-be Megan wanted a “Great Gatsby” theme wedding featuring feathers and flamboyance all the way with the location being none other than the exceptionally beautiful Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. In fact, most of the silver adorning the reception tables was their own family silver, with Caroline graciously designing every table at the reception to use a different centerpiece. The uniform elements of course being the gorgeous palate of colors and flowers and what an array it is. Caroline’s own beautiful images of the event below….speak volumes ALONE!

Caroline LaRocca also created the custom design above (bottom left) to serve a TRIO of purposes not to mention just being utterly beautiful! For starters it serves as a place card, with the guest name and table printed on transparent paper and placed atop a miniature square cube, and of course finished with a blooming red rose inside. It also serves as a favor for each guest to take home. But the coolest part? As the guests set it on the table…it only enhances the centerpiece, adding additional color, flair and design to and an already breathtaking tablescape.

Pretty swank stuff, huh?

Caroline LaRocca started her wedding planning career in NYC, as an apprentice planner in 1989 (ouch). Having lived and breathed weddings, she started her own event planning business in 1996, and has watched the wedding industry change and evolve, while continuing to change with it, ….constantly staying abreast of the latest wedding trends and styles.

Planning always a passion, Caroline started floral design and event production in 2000, and realized she is multi-talented and multi-passionate. Her work can be seen in The Knot and Bridal Guide Magazines and she has been quoted by InStyle Weddings and Modern Bride. Her book, This Is Not Your Mother’s Wedding, A Guide for the Divinely Modern Bride is slated for an early 2011 release, and you can listen to her as the on-air host for Fox’s We’re Throwing You A Wedding“, which begins airing in January 2011.

Her own blog, The Divinely Modern Bride empowers brides to be their own trendsetters and to avoid getting caught up in industry pressures. Caroline also created the one day wedding planning workshop Rich Girl Wedding on a Real Girl Budget and speaks to brides all over the east coast about the tools and strategies for planning a wedding on their own.

Attending this beautiful wedding as grandmother of the bride, I was very impressed with the elaborate and colorful decorations at both the wedding and reception. All the attention and hard work made a very impressive and wonderful setting for all attending.
